Watch: Kenny Payne, Louisville Seniors Preview Virginia Tech

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - While the Louisville men's basketball program still has their regular season finale at Virginia and ACC Tournament games left to be played, their final home game of the 2022-23 season is already here.
As part of their final home game, the Cardinals will be honoring two players as part of their pre-game Senior Day ceremony: guard El Ellis and forward Sydney Curry.
"For Syd and El ... those guys have been heroes," head coach Kenny Payne said. "I want them to win. I understand that you don't have the experience of being on the floor the way you would have the liked before I got here. But now you got a chance to impact winning, and it requires a lot."
The only thing standing in Louisville's way between them and a Senior Day win is Virginia Tech. While the Hokies are riding a two-game losing streak, and have work to do if they are to make the NCAA Tournament, VT split their last 10 games following a stretch where they lost seven in a row.
"They pass the ball, they shoot the ball from multiple positions, they run a lot of great sets, the ball is moving," Payne said. "You have to be alert. You have to be in tune. You better guard that three point line. They can post it. They are a very good basketball team."
Prior to their matchup with the Hokies, Payne, Ellis and Curry took time to meet with the media. They discussed the previous game at Georgia Tech, previewed the upcoming matchup against Virginia Tech, touched on Senior Day, and more.
