Watch: Louisville HC Kenny Payne Previews Clemson

The Cardinals head back on the road and will try and snap a season-long losing streak against the Tigers.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Things continue to go downhill for the Louisville men's basketball program.

The Cardinals are now on a five-game losing streak, the last four of which have been by double digits. In their most recent outing, a rematch vs. Virginia, Louisville had an incredibly poor first half, going down 41-13 for their largest halftime deficit since 1938 and their third-worst in program history

"They are a difficult team that is a well coached, well experienced team that if you if you play loose and casual basketball, they'll burn you on both ends," head coach Kenny Payne said.

Now the Cardinals hit the road to face a Clemson team that is also looking to get back on the right track. After winning their first nine games of the season, the Tigers have dropped six of their last 10 matchups, and are trending towards landing on the NCAA Tournament bubble.

"I can easily say they probably will be the most physical team that we play," Payne said of Clemson. "They set great screens, they post the ball a lot, they play well together. You can't really scout three, four or five offensive sets, they have probably 50 sets that they run. So it's gonna be more about defensive principles than specific plays."

Prior to their matchup with the Tigers, Payne took time to meet with the media on the weekly ACC Coaches Conference Call. He discussed the previous game vs. Virginia, previewed the upcoming showdown at Clemson, and more.
