LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Now the back court for the Louisville women's basketball program has been impacted by the portal.
True freshman guard and in-state product Peyton Bradley plans to enter her name into the transfer portal, she announced Thursday on social media.
"I'm incredibly grateful to my coaches, teammates, and the fans who showed so much love and support, Bradley said in a graphic posted to Twitter/X. "A special thanks to Coach Walz. It's been an honor to learn from such an accomplished and experienced coach.
"I have so many unforgettable memories from this season that I'll forever cherish. As a Kentucky kid, it was an honor putting on that Louisville jersey. Being a Cardinal is something I'll carry with me forever."
Bradley is the third Louisville player to announce their intentions to enter the transfer portal this offseason, following forwards Isla Juffermans and Anaya Hardy. The 15-day portal window does not officially open until Apr 6 - one day after the national championship.
The 5-foot-9 guard saw minimal playing time during her first year at the collegiate level. She only made nine appearances off the bench, averaging 3.8 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game in the process, while shooting 35.3 percent from the field. Bradley scored a career-high eight points on three occasions: vs. Ball State, Bellarmine and New Hampshire.
A native of Brandenburg, Ky, Bradley put together a fantastic prep career with Meade County. As a senior, she averaged the second-most points in the state at 28.2 per game, along with 5.4 rebounds and 4.6 assists to take home 2025 Courier Journal First Team All-State honors. She connected on 510 three-pointers over the course of her high school career, which finished as the second-most threes in KHSAA history.
Year 19 under head coach Jeff Walz was an incredibly successful campaign, one where they finished 29-8 overall for their 16th consecutive 20-win season. Louisville also started conference play at 11-0 for their longest ever undefeated start to ACC play, which was part of a 14-game win streak during the middle portion of the year. The Cardinals also got back to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2023, before ultimately falling to Michigan.
