LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville men's basketball program has been extremely busy on the roster management front since the end of their season last week, and head coach Kenny Payne has identified yet another target.

The Cardinals are one of a handful of schools to reach out to former Bryant guard Charles Pride following his decision to transfer, according to Stockrisers' Jake Weingarten. The graduate transfer entered the portal on Wednesday, and has also heard from Arkansas, Cincinnati, Louisville, SMU, Loyola Chicago and others.

Since Bryant made the transition to Division I in 2008, Pride is one of the most accomplished players in school history. In the Bulldogs' D1 history, the 6-foot-4, 200-pound guard is their fourth-leading scorer (1,528), runner-up in rebounds (750), sixth in assists (250) and leader in steals (144) over his four-year career.

Bryant made the transition to the America East Conference for Pride's senior season, and he was still just as effective. The Syracuse, N.Y. native averaged 14.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.3 steals over 29 games played, while also shooting 45.3 percent from the field and 37.0 percent on three-point attempts.

Hitting the transfer portal hard was going to be of utmost importance for Payne following a 4-28 season in his first year at the helm, and they have already identified several transfer targets. The Cardinals have already reached out to former VMI guard Sean Conway and former Vanderbilt forward Myles Stute, while also hosting former Illinois guard Skyy Clark for an official visit.

Roster management for the 2023-24 season has been in full swing for Louisville since the end of their season. The Cardinals have already seen four players enter the portal: freshman Kamari Lands, freshman forward Devin Ree, freshman guard Fabio Basili and senior forward Sydney Curry.

Conversely, Payne and company have already started adding pieces, and more could be on the way soon. Louisville landed five-star 2023 center Dennis Evans earlier this week, and UofL is seen as the presumptive leaders for Clark and 2024 five-star wing Trentyn Flowers. Clark visited campus on Tuesday, and Flowers is set to commit this Friday - and could potentially reclassify to 2023.
