LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Recruiting momentum for the Louisville men's basketball program continues to skyrocket, as the Cardinals have landed yet another elite prospect for next season.

Charlotte (N.C.) Combine Academy small forward Trentyn Flowers, one of the top prospects in the Class of 2024, announced Friday that he has committed to Louisville. He chose the Cards over finalists Alabama, Arkansas, Creighton, Kansas and North Carolina, and will also be reclassifying to 2023 to join next year's team.

Flowers has been one of head coach Kenny Payne's top high school targets regardless of class ever since he returned to his alma mater last March. Flowers was one of three players that Payne reached out to on the first day of the unlimited contact period last summer, he took an official visit to campus and Louisville Live this past October, and also made a return trip to campus in February for an unofficial visit.

Regardless of class, getting the 6-foot-8, 210-pound wing to commit is a tremendous recruiting win for the Cards. In the 2024 cycle, he's ranked as high as the No. 5 small forward and the No. 16 player in the nation, according to On3. He is a 247Sports Composite five-star prospect, coming in as the No. 20 player in the nation according to the metric.

Flowers had an extremely productive freshman campaign for Huntington (W.Va) Prep, averaging 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists per game. He transferred to Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon midway through his sophomore year, then later transferred to Combine Academy this past summer, where has averaged 16.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in 26 games during his junior year.

Louisville struck out on numerous targets in the 2023 cycle last offseason, but have made up for those misses over the past week. On top of landing Flowers and getting him to reclass, the Cardinals also got commitments from both five-star 2023 center Dennis Evans and former Illinois guard Skyy Clark. Louisville is also welcoming top-70 wings Kaleb Glenn and Curtis Williams Jr., plus JUCO guard Koron Davis as part of their 2023 recruiting class.

The additions to the 2023-24 roster make up for a quintet of transfer portal defections that Louisville has seen since the end of their 4-28 campaign a week and a half ago. Kamari Lands, Devin Ree, Fabio Basili, Sydney Curry and Roosevelt Wheeler have all opted to continue their collegiate careers elsewhere.
