Louisville Opens as 5.5-Point Underdog vs. Florida State in ACC Championship Game

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville football program is set to face Florida State in their first ever appearance in the ACC Championship Game, and as expected, oddsmakers aren't liking them to capture the conference title.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the No. 10 Cardinals have opened up as a -5.5 point underdog to the Seminoles. The over/under has been set at 53.0.
In Louisville's last outing against Kentucky, multiple mistakes in the second half proved to be Louisville's undoing. The Cardinals surrendered a kickoff return for a touchdown, had a pair of fumbles result in Wildcats points, and gave up multiple chunk plays to hand them a 38-31 loss. It marked their fifth-straight loss in the Battle for the Governor's Cup, and snapped a four-game winning streak on the season.
As for the Seminoles, they head into the ACC Championship Game as one of just four Power Five teams to go undefeated during the regular season, but will be short starting quarterback Jordan Travis after he suffered a season-ending injury last weekend. In their most recent outing at Florida, backup QB Tate Rodemaker and the Seminoles were able to pull themselves out of an early 12-0 hole, taking down the Gators 24-15 in The Swamp.
Louisville is 6-6 against-the-spread so far this season, whereas Florida State is 7-5. The Cardinals are 0-2 ATS in neutral site matchups despite being 2-0 straight up, while the Seminoles covered and won outright their lone neutral site matchup.
Louisville was able to cover vs. Murray State (-43.5), vs. Boston College (-14.0) vs. Notre Dame (+6.5), vs. Duke (-5.0), vs. Virginia Tech (-9.5) and at Miami (+1.0); but failed to do so vs. Georgia Tech (-7.0), vs. Indiana (-10.0) at NC State (-3.5) at Pitt (-7.0), vs. Virginia (-20.0) and vs. Kentucky (-7.5).
Florida State covered vs. LSU (+2.0), vs. Southern Miss (-31.0), at Clemson (-3.0), vs. Syracuse (-19.0), vs. Duke (-14.0), at Wake Forest (-21.0) and at Florida (-6.5); but could not do so at Boston College (-26.5), vs. Virginia Tech (-24.0), at Pitt (-19.5), vs. Miami (-14.0) and vs. North Alabama (-48.5)
Kickoff vs. Florida State is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 2 at 8:00 p.m. EST.
