LOUISVILLE, Ky. - We might be over three months away from the triumphant return of college football, but opening lines for week one of the 2023 season are starting to trickle out.

Louisville has the task of traveling down to Atlanta, Ga. for a neutral-site matchup against Georgia Tech to kick off the Jeff Brohm era. According to the folks over at BetOnline.ag, the Cardinals have opened up as an -8.0 favorite over the Yellow Jackets. An over/under has not yet been set for the matchup, which will take place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Friday, Sept. 1 as part of the annual Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game.

Both teams will be heading into the 2023 season with different head coaches than this time last year. Louisville went 8-5 in 2022, including a 24-7 win over Cincinnati in the Fenway Bowl, and saw head coach Scott Satterfield depart for the Bearcats just after the end of the regular season.

Meanwhile, Georgia Tech fired head coach Geoff Collins after a 1-3 start to their 2022 campaign. Offensive line coach Brent Key took over as the interim, then was later promoted to full time head coach after guiding the Jackets to a 4-4 mark under his watch.

These two teams have met just twice before, with the Cardinals being handed blowout losses both times. The Cardinals fell 66-31 at home on Oct. 5, 2018 during Bobby Petrino's final year at the helm, then were defeated 46-27 at Bobby Dodd Stadium on Oct. 9, 2020 in Satterfield's second year.

Below are the week one betting lines across the ACC that BetOnline.ag has released thus far. Opening lines for Pitt, Syracuse and Wake Forest's openers have yet to be released.

  • NC State (-16.5) at Connecticut
  • Miami of Ohio at Miami, Fla. (-17.0)
  • Northern Illinois at Boston College (-10.0)
  • Old Dominion at Virginia Tech (-14.5)
  • North Carolina (PK) vs. South Carolina
  • Virginia vs. Tennessee (-28.0)
  • LSU (2.5) vs. Florida State
  • Clemson (-12.0) at Duke

Italics indicate neutral-site matchup.
