Louisville WR Ahmari Huggins-Bruce Enters Transfer Portal

In this story:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Ahmari Huggins-Bruce, a multi-year contributor at wide receiver for the Louisville football program, has entered his name into the transfer portal, he announced Friday on social media.
"I have to begin by stating that I have truly loved and enjoyed my 3 years in Louisville as a Cardinal," Huggins-Bruce said in a graphic posted to Twitter. This program has given me the opportunity to play and show my skills as soon as I landed on campus. I have learned a great deal about football, teamwork, and self improvement since being a part of this football program.
"I want to thank the coaches, the strength and conditioning staff, my teammates, my academic advisors, and Ms. Robyn for assisting me in my adjustments to being away from home. Further, I would like to thank Card Nation for your support you guys are the best."
Huggins-Bruce is the third Louisville player to enter the portal following their loss to USC in the Holiday Bowl, along with linebacker Keith Brown and offensive tackle Vincent Lumia. He is also the 12th scholarship Cardinals to enter the portal overall in this cycle.
During his three years as a Cardinal, the 5-foot-11, 170-pound speedster has been a regular fixture of Louisville's passing attack, if not a touch under-utilized. Across 39 career games and 12 starts, Huggins-Bruce hauled in 80 receptions for 1,121 yards and 10 touchdowns, along with 11 rushes for 67 yards and a score.
The Dillon, SC. native burst onto the scene as a true freshman, catching 29 passes for 44 yards and four touchdowns. However, his overall usage and production would decrease over the next two seasons, and he never took on a large role in the passing attack. He caught 31 passes for 365 yards and two touchdowns in 2022, then just 20 passes for 312 yards and four scores in his first season under Jeff Brohm.
Dec. 4 marked the first day of college football’s 30-day winter transfer portal window. Players have until Jan. 2, 2024 to enter the portal for their permitted one-time transfer under current NCAA guidelines.
The Cardinals finished their 2023 season with an overall mark of 10-4 (7-1 in ACC) including a berth in the program's first ever ACC Championship Game, but ended year one under head coach Jeff Brohm on a three-game losing streak.
