University of Louisville commit safety Benjamin Perry has committed to play in the 2021 Under Armour All-American Game, he announced Friday. Perry received an invitation to play earlier this month.

The exhibition features 100 of the top prospects in the nation, and is one of two of the premier high school football all-star games alongside the All-American Bowl.

The Mount Carmel (IL) product is one of Louisville's top verbal commitments in the 2021 cycle. Ever since his commitment to Cardinals back in May, his recruitment and exposure has skyrocketed.

As of mid-June, the Chicago native is now the No. 8 safety in the nation, the No. 2 prospect in the state of Illinois behind Iowa offensive lineman commit David Davidkov, and the No. 157 player in the Class of 2021 according to 247Sports' in-house rankings.

While mainly a safety, his size and speed gives him extra versatility as a defender. His anticipatory skills and ability to play on the ball while still in the air makes him great in zone coverage. At 6-foot-3 & 190-pounds, he is also a great addition to the run support. Because of his versatility, he is a perfect candidate to play the "Card" position, which is a safety/outside linebacker hybrid.

He also has a winning pedigree. He was part of a Mount Carmel squad that went 14-0 in 2019, winning the IHSA Class 7A State Championship and ranked the No. 3 team in the state of Illinois according to MaxPreps.
