Highlights & Evaluation: Louisville OL Commit Gradey Anthony

Louisville Report breaks down 2025 Louisville football offensive line commit Gradey Anthony.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville football program has landed their second prospect in their 2025 class, as Gradey Anthony has committed to the Cardinals.

Here is Louisville Report's full evaluation:

Prospect: Gradey Anthony
Position: Offensive/Defensive Tackle
Measurables: 6-foot-5, 266 pounds
School: Goshen (Ky.) North Oldham
Top Offers: Eastern Kentucky
247Sports Composite Rating (Nat'l Rank): N/A

Gradey Anthony's Junior Year Highlights: HERE (Hudl)

Frame: Anthony has a good base frame to work with, as he has both the height and the wingspan that you want out of an offensive tackle, especially a blindside blocker. It goes without saying that he will have to add more weight between now and when he gets to college, but he has already done an impressive job bulking up from the summer to now, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Athleticism: For an offensive tackle, Anthony is very fleet of foot. He moves very well from side-to-side, and doesn't have any issue getting down field in a hurry. His film showcases some underrated upper body strength as well.

Instincts: While North Oldham seemed to have more success passing the ball, Anthony's best work comes as a one-on-one run blocker, especially when the ballcarrier runs to his side. He will regularly use his legs to drive defenders backwards, sometimes taking them up to 10 yards up field from the line of scrimmage. Anthony also does a good job of using his burst off the line and legs to get leverage to seal the edge.

Polish: As far as his ability to actually hold a block goes, especially in pass protection, he rarely lets a defender get by him thanks to typically good hand placement and more strength than you would expect. That being said, even with his natural agility, he needs to work on his footwork some to help keep edge rushers in front of him with consistency. Anthony also sometimes looks a bit clunky when pulling across the line.

Bottom Line: Overall, this is an under-the-radar pickup for Louisville. Anthony will absolutely have to continue bulking up and continue to fine tune some of his mechanics in preparation for the jump to D1, but it's understandable when watching film why Jeff Brohm and Co. were interested in him. He could be a meaningful contributor on the line by his sophomore season.
