Louisville Lands Commitment From '24 S Jathan Hatch

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Head coach Jeff Brohm and the Louisville have done it again in the Class of 2024.
Jathan Hatch, a safety from Biggersville (Miss.) Corinth who is coming off of an official visit to UofL this past weekend, announced Monday that he has given his verbal pledge to the Cardinals. He chose Louisville over held offers from Kentucky, Ole Miss, Cincinnati and others.
Hatch is the second commitment in as many days for Louisville, joining offensive tackle Fred Johnson, who committed on Sunday after also taking an official visit. The Cardinals have now secured four commitments in the cycle over the last eight days, with running back Duke Watson and safety Jaiden Spearman also in the fold.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound athlete has played multiple different positions in high school, including safety and cornerback on defense, as well as running back and wide receiver on offense. Recruited mainly as a defensive back by Louisville, he comes in as the No. 29 prospect in the state of Mississippi and the No. 117 safety in the cycle, according to 247Sports' in-house rankings.
With Hatch in the fold, Louisville's 2024 recruiting class now sports 12 commitments. He joins a class that is light on defensive prospects up to this point, as Hatch is only the fourth defender currently committed, joining fellow safety Jaiden Spearman plus linebackers T.J. Capers and Trent Carter.
