Louisville Makes Top Six for '24 WR Jerrae Hawkins

The dual sport speedster is one of the top prospects in the state of Florida.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - South Florida has been good to the Louisville football program both in the past and so far in the Class of 2024. New head coach Jeff Brohm has been hard at work to make sure the Sunshine State pipeline stays intact.

Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy wide receiver Jerrae Hawkins released his list of top six schools on Monday, with the Cardinals making the cut. Florida, Miami, Penn State, Wisconsin and West Virginia are also still in the running.

The 5-foot-9, 165-pound slot receiver is not only one of the top prospects in the talent-rich state, but in the 2024 cycle as a whole. According to 247Sports' in-house ranking, Hawkins comes in as the No. 21 receiver in the class, the No. 18 prospect in Florida and the No. 102 player in the nation.

Originally hailing from Wheeling, West Va., Hawkins transferred to IMG Academy last December. He made the most of his transfer, as he caught 67 passes for 1,173 yards and 14 touchdowns during his junior season. He also saw some time on the other side of the line scrimmage at cornerback, logging eight tackles, three pass breakups and a pick-six.

Hawkins also participates in track and field, where he puts his elite speed to good use. His confirmed personal bests are 10.45 in the 100-meter dash and 21.48 in the 200-meter dash, and reportedly ran a sub-4.3 40-yard dash at a recruiting camp at Ohio State last summer.

Louisville currently sports a two-man recruiting class, with both commits hailing from Miami-Dade county: four-star Homestead (Fla.) HS running back Isaac Brown and five-star Miami (Fla.) Columbus outside linebacker T.J. Capers.
