LOUISVILLE, Ky. - When the Louisville football program takes on Duke later today, one of their top players is reportedly in line to return from injury.

Star running back Jawhar Jordan is "expected" to play vs. the Blue Devils, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. No update was provided on cornerback Jarvis Brownlee, who was also questionable heading into the matchup vs. Duke.

Thamel also reported that, while Duke QB Riley Leonard is a game-time decision, there is optimism that he will play against the Cardinals.

Jordan entered Louisville's Oct. 14 game at Pitt with a nagging hamstring issue, but played in the first series of the matchup. After getting two carries for eight yards, but did not play for the remainder of game. Brownlee did not log any stats in the 38-21 loss against the Panthers before exiting the game in the second quarter.

Jordan did not participate in practice during in Louisville's bye week, but did take part in rehab efforts on the sideline, with Brohm going as far to saw he had some "strong rehab work."

"With (Jordan), as far as football practice, no he did not practice last week, but he did some strong rehab work on the side of the field," Brohm said on Monday. "That continued yesterday, and then we'll gauge where he's at this week. I'm always hopeful that we can get him back, but until I see him practice football in the normal setting, I wouldn't be able to tell you that."

Jordan has established himself as one of the most explosive and exciting running backs in college football. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound all-purpose back has rushed for 661 yards and eight touchdowns, as well as caught 10 passes for 174 yards and a score. His rushing total comes in at No. 21 nationally, while his 835 yards from scrimmage is good for 20th in the FBS.

Kickoff vs. the Blue Devils is set for 3:30 p.m. EST at L&N Stadium.
