LOUISVILLE, Ky. - At this point in time, spring ball is well in the rear view mirror for the Louisville football program. The Cardinals wrapped up their first set of spring practices under new head coach Jeff Brohm back on April 21, holding their annual spring game.

With the 2023 season now just over two months away, Louisville is deep into their voluntarily offseason workouts, where most of the players that are on campus are participating. While the program is limited to what they can actually do during the offseason due to NCAA rules, the players are using this time as strategically as they can.

"We're just getting better every day," running back Jawhar Jordan said. "Getting along, bonding with the guys and just studying the playbook. That's all it's about."

In the two months since spring ball concluded, Louisville has been very active in the transfer portal, bringing in multiple impact playmakers to address various positions of need. With July right around the corner, this is a crucial period of time for the newcomers to improve before fall camp gets underway in August.

"I feel like they're adjusting pretty well," safety M.J. Griffin said. "I've seen a few players out there, like (Storm) Duck, Cam (Kelly) up there with me, with coach (Ron) English and coach Steve Ellis going over the playbook. It's not easy. They just got here. They have to catch up on a lot of things, and I feel like they're doing a pretty good job."

Following a workout session on Thursday, Jordan and Griffin took time to meet with the media. They discussed how the offseason has gone since spring ball ended, how players are continuing to adjust to the new schemes on both sides of the ball, how newcomers have adjusted, and more.
