Louisville's Jawhar Jordan Named ACC RB of the Week

The running back for the Cardinals rushed for a career-high 163 yards against the Blue Devils.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Jawhar Jordan of the University of Louisville football team was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Running Back of the Week for the second time this season, the league announced Monday.

Jordan rushed for a career-high 163 yards on 21 carries in 23-0 victory over No. 20 Duke on Saturday. He recorded two touchdowns, scoring on runs of 14 and 23 yards in the first quarter of action.

The redshirt junior recorded his ninth career 100-yard rushing game with five of those games coming this season – all ending in wins. After tabbing his fifth career game with multiple rushing touchdowns, he ranks ninth nationally and leads the ACC with 10 rushing scores this season.

Jordan upped his season total to a career-high 824 yards and a personal best 10 touchdowns. Only 176 yards away from 1,000 for the season, he currently ranks second in the ACC and 13th in the nation in total yards. He is averaging 7.5 yards per carry which is fourth in the country and first in the ACC.

The Cardinals will continue their conference home slate this Saturday, Nov. 4 against Virginia Tech. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 3:30 p.m. ET on the ACC Network.
