Louisville LB Keith Brown Enters Transfer Portal

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville linebacker Keith Brown has entered his name into the transfer portal, he announced Thursday on social media.
"Appreciate the Louisville staff and all of my teammates for a short chapter in my life I won't ever forget!" Brown said in a graphic posted to Twitter.
Brown is the first Louisville player to enter the portal following their loss to USC in the Holiday Bowl. He is also the second scholarship linebacker to enter the portal following Jackson Hamilton, the ninth player on the defensive side of the ball, and the 10th Cardinal overall.
The 6-foot-2, 235-pound middle linebacker came to Louisville as a transfer from Oregon last offseason, but barely saw the field during his time as a Cardinal. He played just 12 defensive snaps in the first two games of the season against Georgia Tech and Murray State, only logging a tackle in the latter game against the Racers. Brown also played 11 special teams snaps against MSU, Indiana and Florida State.
The Lebanon, Oregon native and former four-star prospect out of the Class of 2021 spent the first two years of his collegiate career with the Ducks. Brown collected 36 tackles and one for loss across 18 games during his time in Eugene, including 21 tackles in 12 games as a sophomore.
Dec. 4 marked the first day of college football’s 30-day winter transfer portal window. Players have until Jan. 2, 2024 to enter the portal for their permitted one-time transfer under current NCAA guidelines.
While Brown is now a two-time transfer, he will be eligible to play immediately at his next destination. Earlier this month, the NCAA adopted legislation that would allow multi-time transfers who transfer before the end of the 2023-24 academic calendar to be immediately eligible for next season.
The Cardinals finished their 2023 season with an overall mark of 10-4 (7-1 in ACC) including a berth in the program's first ever ACC Championship Game, but ended year one under head coach Jeff Brohm on a three-game losing streak.
