LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville football program is on blazing hot run when it comes to recruiting the transfer portal, and they've dipped back into the portal yet again.

Monroe Mills, an offensive lineman who spent the last two years of his collegiate career at Texas Tech, announced Tuesday that he has committed to play his final season of eligibility with the Cardinals.

He's the 10th transfer commitment for Louisville since this past Friday, with the Cardinals now landing portal pickups in each of the last five days.

Mills is also reunited with his starting quarterback. Former Red Raiders signal caller Tyler Shough was Louisville's first commitment from out of the transfer portal this cycle.

A two-year starter on the offensive line for Texas Tech, Mills' best season at the college level came this past season. Starting all 12 games for the Red Raiders at left tackle, the 6-foot-6, 315-pound lineman allowed only two sacks, three quarterback hits and 10 hurries in 500 pass block snaps and 894 blocking snaps overall. His efforts earned him an All-Big 12 honorable mention.

The Columbia, Mo. native spent the first two years of his career with Oklahoma State, but only played 19 total snaps during his time as a Cowboy. For the 2022 season, which was his first year with Texas Tech, Mills started 10 games at right tackle, allowing just one sacks, two quarterback hits and 22 hurries in 543 pass block snaps and 856 blocking snaps overall.

Not only is this a big pickup in terms of his size, Mills also fills a massive area of need for Louisville. Between graduation and the transfer portal, the Cardinals are already in line to lose seven offensive linemen from the current roster, including three starters.

Mills is the 15th player to transfer to Louisville in this cycle, and the fourth offensive lineman following Yale tackle Jonathan Mendoza, NIU center Pete Nygra and Ohio State tackle Victor Cutler. The Cardinals have also seen nine scholarship players enter the portal since the winter transfer window opened on Dec. 4.

He is expected to sign on Dec. 20 for the first day of the early signing period. Louisville went 10-2 during the regular season with a berth in the ACC Championship Game under first year head coach Jeff Brohm, and are preparing for their Holiday Bowl matchup with USC on Dec. 27.
