'25 WR Vernell Brown III Lists Louisville Among Top Schools

The wide receiver/return man from Florida is a consensus top-300 prospect in the Class of 2025

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Another offensive skill position Class of 2025 prospect from Florida has named the Louisville football program among their top schools.

Orlando (Fla.) Jones wide receiver Vernell Brown III announced his top 11 schools on Thursday, with the Cardinals in the mix for his commitment. Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, Florida State, Miami, Florida, Tennessee, Syracuse, UCF and Stanford are also in the running among his over 40 scholarship offers,

Brown is one of Louisville's top targets in the cycle. Last month, head coach Jeff Brohm and several of his assistants made a visit to Jones High School, offering Brown in the process.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound receiver is a threat to score any time he touches the ball, catching 70 receptions for 1,363 yards and 10 touchdowns during his junior campaign. He also doubles as a deadly return man, returning three punts and a kickoff for touchdowns. Brown helped Jones go 10-4 with an appearance in Florida's Class 3M state semifinals.

Brown's prowess on both offense and special teams make him a very high-regarded recruit. He's a consensus top-300 prospect, and ranks as high as the No. 36 wide receiver and No. 216 prospect in the Class of 2025 according to Rivals.

Louisville currently sports a three-man 2025 recruiting class, with Oxford (Ala). HS quarterback Mason Mims, Goshen (Ky.) North Oldham offensive linemen Gradey Anthony and Westerville (Oh.) North offensive lineman Jake Cook in the mix.
