Ohio State Transfer OL Victor Cutler Commits to Louisville

Cutler started his career at Louisiana Monroe before later transferring to Buckeyes.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville football program is now on a streak of three straight days with multiple commitments from out of the transfer portal.

Victor Cutler, a versatile offensive lineman who spent last season at Ohio State, announced Sunday that he has committed to play his final season of eligibility with the Cardinals.

He’s the seventh portal commitment for the Cards since Friday, and second of the day following South Alabama wide receiver Caullin Lacy. Alabama wide receiver Ja'Corey Brooks and UCF cornerback Corey Thornton both committed on Friday night, while FIU defensive tackle Jordan Guerad, NIU center Pete Nygra and Miami running back Donald Chaney Jr. pulled the trigger on Saturday night.

Cutler spent the first three years of his collegiate career at Louisiana Monroe, then transferred to Ohio State in the spring of 2023. The 6-foot-3, 300-pound lineman saw minimal time on the field as a Buckeye, only playing in 21 snaps across four games, all coming at center.

During his three years with Louisiana Monroe, the West Monroe, La. native played at multiple positions on the offensive line. He spent the 2020 season as the backup right tackle for the Warhawks, saw starts at both center and right tackle in 2021, then was ULM's starting left tackle in 2022. In 33 games and 21 starts, Cutler has allowed only 12 sacks and 46 total pressures in 826 career pass blocking snaps and 1,386 total blocking snaps.

Cutler is the 12th player to transfer to Louisville in this cycle, and the fifth lineman following Guerad, Nygra, defensive tackle Thor Griffith and offensive tackle Jonathan Mendoza. The Cardinals have also seen nine scholarship players enter the portal since the winter transfer window opened on Dec. 4.

He is expected to sign on Dec. 20 for the first day of the early signing period. Louisville went 10-2 during the regular season with a berth in the ACC Championship Game under first year head coach Jeff Brohm, and are preparing for their Holiday Bowl matchup with USC on Dec. 27.
