Watch: Louisville Head Coach Jeff Brohm Provides Pre-Fall Camp Update

In this story:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The start of the Jeff Brohm era for the Louisville football program is just right around the corner.
The Cardinals are in the midst of voluntary offseason workouts, but fall camp is fast approaching for the program. That's expected to kick off in roughly three weeks, when the calendar flips to August. On top of that, Louisville is just 50 days away from kicking off their 2023 season down in Atlanta, Ga. against Georgia Tech on Friday, Sept. 1.
In between spring ball and fall camp, like every other program in college football, Louisville has been very busy trying to finalize their roster. The Cardinals have seen eight players transfer since mid-April, but they have countered that with 14 portal additions in that time. They even were able to recently get 2024 five-star commit T.J. Capers to reclassify and enroll.
While the Louisville coaching staff will have to wait a few more weeks until they see these newcomers in an organized practice setting, they've been impressed with what they have been able to see during the summer.
"They've worked really hard in the weight room," Brohm said. "We have a good system put together where they're putting in the work on the field - whether (the coaches) are out there some or not - and learning everything that needs to take place in order for them to feel comfortable for fall camp. I like our additions, and I think they all will contribute to a certain degree. Some right away for sure, others, it may take a little time. But I think in general, we've been very pleased. ... At this point, they've done a really good job."
On Thursday morning, Brohm took time to meet with the media to give a pre-fall camp update on the team. He talked about the addition of Capers, roster construction in this age of college football, the quarterback and tight end rooms, Jack Plummer's impact, and more.
