Maryland Men's Basketball vs Northwestern Prediction, Preview

Despite the Maryland Terrapins (14-4) most recent win against Purdue, they remain winless on the road with an 0-4 record.
They have yet to correct their struggles when playing away from the Xfinity Center but they will have a good chance at doing that against another Big Ten team in Northwestern (6-11).
The Northwestern Wildcats have lost seven of their last eight games, after starting their season 5-4. Things do not get any easier as they host a ranked Maryland team.

HC Chris Collins
Collins is coaching in his seventh season with the Wildcats. After leading Northwestern to the NCAA tournament in the 2016-17 season, the team has suffered three consecutive losing seasons. He has a coaching record of 107-107.
F Miller Kopp
The former four-star recruit from Houston, Texas is the Wildcats' best player. Kopp leads the team averaging 13.1 points per game to go along with his 84.6 percentage from the free throw line. The 6-foot-7 210-pound big man still leaves a lot to be desired defensively, averaging only 3.8 rebounds this season.
G Boo Buie
Daniel "Boo" Buie is having a respectable season as a freshman. The former three-star recruit is second on the team in points, averaging 10.8 points per game. He is finding ways to do a little bit of everything offensively and defensively.
C Ryan Young/F Pete Nance
Young and Nance are the heart and soul of the Wildcats' defense. They are the tallest players on the team, both standing at 6-foot-10. Both average 6.6 rebounds per game. Young is the most accurate player from the field, converting 57.4 percent from the field. Nance is accurate from the free throw line, making 81.8 percent.
Prediction
Maryland does not play well on the road, especially against Big Ten opponents. Considering Northwestern's struggles to win games this season as well as their 1-6 conference record, the Terrapins are heavily favored in this matchup. Expect the Terrapins to get their first away win of the season.
