Mark Turgeon and the Maryland Terrapins (13-3) suffered one of their worst defeats this past weekend, losing to the Iowa Hawkeyes (11-5) 67-49.

They have struggled mightily on the road, losing to Iowa, Penn State, and Seton Hall.

Things will not get any easier as the Terrapins will play on the road again against a tough Wisconsin Badgers (10-6) team.

Get to know the opponent

HC Greg Gard

Gard is currently coaching in his fifth season with the Wisconsin Badgers. He has a coaching record of 90-53, to go along with three NCAA tournament appearances. So far this season, the Badgers have a 3-2 record against Big Ten opponents that includes the defeats of No. 21 Ohio State, Indiana, and Penn State.

F Nate Reuvers

Reuvers is the Badgers' leader in points, averaging 13.7 points per game. The 6-foot-11 235-pound junior has became Wisconsin's most well-rounded player, being a consistent scorer and quality defender with an average of 2.1 blocks.

G Kobe King

The Wisconsin native is second on the team in points, averaging 10.9 points per game. He has been the Badgers most accurate shooter, as he leads the team with a 50.4 field goal percentage. Even then, his performance from behind the arc has been disappointing with only 29.2 percent made.

F Micah Potter

Potter transferred from Ohio State and had to sit out the first semester of this season. Since then, he is averaging 9.5 points per game and 6.5 rebounds through six games. He is dangerous from behind the arc with a 45.5 3-point percentage to go along with 48.6 percent from the field. Potter was key in an impressive win over Penn State, scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. The 6-foot-10 248-pound junior will be difficult to stop.

Prediction

Wisconsin is arguably the most underrated college basketball team in the nation. In many ways, the Badgers are like the Terrapins where they both would love to improve their field goal percentages. Wisconsin's defense has been really good, as they have five big men that are at least 6-foot-10 on the roster. Considering the Badgers are playing at home, Maryland might be in for another rough day.
