Three-star defensive back Jakorian Bennett announced his commitment to Maryland Terrapins football Tuesday night via Twitter.

The 6-foot 185-pound player only recently visited University of Maryland: College Park and immediately felt it was a good school for him. He committed to Maryland over Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and 26 other offers. There is a good chance he will sign with the Terrapins tomorrow during the early signing period.

The three-star recruit was a first-team all-KJCCC selection at safety and was ranked as the No. 19 cornerback in the JUCO composite of 247sports.

He is another ball-hawking playmaker on the defense. He has good size, along with solid straight-line speed. He anticipates plays really well but also does a good job with his ball awareness on the field. Bennett is a sound tackler and offers the Terrapins positional flexibility.

Mike Locksley has been heavily involved in recruiting a lot of JUCO prospects, after landing four commits from that program a couple weeks ago. The addition of Bennett will go a long way towards improving the Terrapins in 2020.

Maryland's 2020 recruiting class already landed a handful of defensive back commits in Tarheeb Still, Devyn King, Shane Mosley, Beau Brade, Glen Miller, and most recently Osita Smith.

The Terrapins will continue to recruit as many players to their football program as possible to avoid hitting rock bottom after their 3-9 record this past season. With the early signing period right around the corner, Maryland is set to improve the talent of this team very soon.
