The Miami Hurricanes are surging back into the top 25, but will need another series victory before anything can truly happen.

That starts against Virginia Tech and the Hokies' dangerous pitching staff. The Hurricanes' offense has been on fire recently, and they look to continue that streak against another conference foe.

Who: Miami and Virginia Tech

When:
Friday, April 3 at 7:00 p.m. ET
Saturday, April 4, at 6:00 p.m. ET
Sunday April 5, at 1:00 p.m. ET

Where: Mark Light Stadium, Coral Gables, Fla.

TV: ACCNX

Last Time Out, Hokies: Behind junior Nick Locurto’s first career multi-homer game on Tuesday, the Virginia Tech baseball team slugged its way past Radford, 13-5, at Williams Field at Sherman Carter Memorial Stadium.

Last Time Out, Miami: The Hurricanes' offense was sparked once again against another hot offensive team, Florida Gulf Coast, defeating the Eagles 12-4.

Pregame:

New Friday Starter for the Canes.

1st Inning:

Top: Evans gives up a run in his first outing as a Friday starter but strands a runner at third and gets out of the inning without any more damage.

VT 1, Miami 0

Bottom: The Hurricanes go up 1-2-3, but did make contact with the ball. More will come from it in the future.

2nd Inning:

Top: Evans gives off the lead-off single, but it takes down the next three. He is starting to get back into a groove and settle in.

Bottom: T2 | Look, I continue to say Derek Williams isn't real, he's playing other worldly, etc. I can't describe him anymore. He and Cuvet are inevitable. 12th Homer of the year for the outfielder. Hot is an understatement.

Miami 1, VT 1

Fabio Peralta's hitting growth from his freshman season is now outstanding. A two-run RBI triple to take the lead for the Canes. His second of the year. This is an offense. Jake Ogden with a bomb of his own for two runs.

Miami 5, VT 1

3rd Inning:

Top: Rob Evans continues to work well and now with a lead, his best stuff is here to show. He goes 1-2-3 against the Hokies lineup.

Bottom: The Hurricanes get the bases loaded and get a walk. It is the end of the night for the Hokies' starting pitcher.

Miami 7, VT 1
