NFL Legend Deion Sanders Speaks Out Against Devin Hester's HOF Snub

Following Hester's HOF Snub, Sanders Expresses His Frustration

It's simple to assume most Miami fans are not huge Deion Sanders fans at the moment, as Sanders managed to flip the Cormani McClain from Coral Gables to join him in Boulder, Colorado.

However, after Miami legend Devin Hester failed to receive a bid to the Hall of Fame this past week, Sanders was one of the notable names to speak out against his snub.

In the video, Sanders talks about just how much of an effect that Hester had on games. He mentioned how on fourth downs when Hester would be returning punts, players would truly have to lock in in order to stop him from making a significant return.

While only really playing as a return specialist throughout his career, he still managed to become so effective teams had to game plan against him. However, those against Hester typically bring up the argument that he didn't do enough outside of the return game to warrant a bid.

This marks the second year that Hester has failed to make it into the Hall of Fame. The good thing is since Hester has been a finalist, his odds of eventually making it into the Hall of Fame are in his favor around 80%.

While some of Hester's stats have been surpassed by some of the great returners of today, he still has an impressive resume to back up his case. Hester is the clear man atop all time punt return TDs with 14, and ninth in kickoff return TDs, 3x All Pro, and many other accomplishments.

At the end of the day, Hester is evidently someone highly respected amongst his peers and regarded as one of the greatest returners to ever do it. Sometimes being inducted is just a long process, and Hester may find himself inducted in a few years time.
