The gem of the 2024 recruiting class, quarterback Jadyn Davis, is one of the players who traveled to Pasadena with Michigan football while the Wolverines practice for the Rose Bowl.

Davis, who was originally a five-star recruit, ended the process as a four-star and the No. 7 quarterback in the 2024 cycle. While the national recruiting analysts may have slighted Davis in the rankings a tad, his new teammates are all high on the future Michigan signal caller.

The current Michigan starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy was asked about what he's seen in Davis so far. He told the media he has a great relationship with Davis and it's been a fun process to train with him. He believes the sky is the limit for Davis.

"Extremely, extremely cool," stated McCarthy. "I haven't been in this position where I've been the starter for two years and guys are coming in and just being able to have that relationship with such a great guy and great family. It clicked from the start."

"Just tremendous athlete, tremendous thrower of the football. I trained with him a couple times this past summer, and the sky is the limit for him. Just such a great leader, such a great teammate."

But it's not just his physical tools that excite McCarthy the most about what Davis brings to the table. It's how the young signal caller carries himself and how he wants to grow as a quarterback.

When you look back on McCarthy as a young Wolverine compared to Davis, you see plenty of similarities between the two. Both ask questions to get better and both want to become the best they can be.

“The thing I’m most impressed with him, though, is just the way he carries himself,” McCarthy said. “Being around the guys and being a newcomer, he really just doesn’t say much but puts his head down and works. He’s always asking questions and always trying to grow and always trying to learn. That’s the thing I respect the most. Obviously, he can throw the football very well but seeing his character and seeing his intangibles makes me excited.”

Offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore was asked about what he's seen from Davis since he's been practicing with Michigan. Moore was excited talking about the North Carolina product. He believes he's going to be really good when he gets his shot down he the road.

"Yeah, it's been great, man," said Moore. "Smart, tactical, great arm, accurate. He's going to be a really good player for us."
