Michigan Football In Contact With UCLA Transfer Dante Moore

Michigan has one of the best quarterbacks in the country in JJ McCarthy, but he'll have a decision to make when the Wolverines are done playing and you always have to build for the future.

According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Michigan is in contact with former five-star recruit and Detroit native, Dante Moore, and the former UCLA Bruin is reciprocating interest. The 6-3, 210-pounder spent one year at UCLA but is now in the transfer portal and is considering the Wolverines along with Florida State, Miami and Oregon.

Dante Moore

Former UCLA quarterback Dante Moore is in the transfer portal and considering the Wolverines.

During his traditional recruitment, Moore was a top target for the Wolverines and it honestly looked like he'd end up in Ann Arbor for much of the process. He grew extremely close to former Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner and made several visits to Ann Arbor for games, events and other random drop ins. Instead, it was actually Oregon that procured his commitment first. Moore picked the Ducks in July ahead of his senior season but then flipped to the Bruins just before the December edition of National Signing Day. Now, after just one season in Westwood, he's back on the market and considering the Wolverines again.

During his freshman season at UCLA, Moore went 114-of-213 for 1,610 yards and 11 touchdowns against nine interceptions. He obviously made some mistakes but he also routinely made big time throws and had moments that freshmen usually don't have. He's a talent, and obviously an in-state kid, so the interest in Michigan is real. It obviously depends on exactly what Moore is looking for, but it seems the Wolverines are going to have a shot as he looks for a new home.
