Former Michigan Football Player Finds New School

In this story:
Former Michigan starting linebacker Nikhai Hill-Green transferred to Charlotte this past offseason after the Wolverines landed Nebraska transfer Ernest Hausmann in the transfer portal. The news came as a surprise to Wolverine fans after Hill-Green played in the 2023 spring game and was available to speak to the media afterward.
But Hill-Green chose to go to Charlotte along with Eyabi Okie and Damani Dent to play for former Michigan coach Biff Poggi.
After starring with Charlotte for one season, Hill-Green once again entered the transfer portal after the season ended.
Next season, Hill-Green will be back with a Power Five program after he committed to UCF.
Hill-Green was a Michigan starter in 2021 before sitting out the entire 2022 season with an injury. Last season, playing with the 49ers, he became one of the better defensive players under Poggi.
Hill-Green recorded 73 tackles, two sacks, and nine TFLs. He will enter UCF with a chance to become a starter in the Big-12 conference -- linebacker was a big need for the Knights.
The former Wolverine also had an offer from Florida State. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
