Earlier on Wednesday it was reported that Penn defensive tackle Joey Slackman would not follow through with an official visit to Michigan and it now appears that ship has sailed for Michigan.

But shortly after that was reported, Michigan received a Crystal Ball prediction from 247Sports' national writer Chris Hummer for the Wolverines to land Western Kentucky transfer, Upton Stout.

Stout is the 39th-ranked player in the portal and the No. 4 cornerback, according to 247Sports.

The 5-foot-9, 185-pound cornerback began his career at North Texas where he played from 2020-2021. He then transferred to Western Kentucky where he became an instant-impact player.

He was seventh on the team in '22 with 44 tackles and led the team with four interceptions. This year, Stout only played in seven games, but he still accounted for 29 tackles and an interception.

Stout has the ability to play the safety position as well -- has done so in college. But with his size and ability, Stout is looked at as a possible replacement for Mike Sainristil at the nickel.

Stout has already taken a visit to Ann Arbor and by all accounts, everything went great for the Wolverines. According to On3, Michigan is leading with a 48.1% chance to land Stout.

USC is a program that is also in hot pursuit to land Stout.

Michigan also has a Crystal Ball prediction to land Maryland linebacker Jaishawn Barham.
