Alabama Hires Former Michigan Position Coach Ahead Of Rose Bowl Matchup

George Helow spent two years working as part of Jim Harbaugh's staff in Ann Arbor, and now he'll assist the Crimson Tide as the prepare for the Wolverines in the Rose Bowl.

Not surprisingly, Nick Saban is doing everything he can to make sure Alabama is prepared for its upcoming Rose Bowl matchup with Michigan.

The No. 1 ranked Wolverines enter the contest with one of the nations top defensive units in the country, and Saban knows it will present a massive challenge for the Crimson Tide in the CFP Semifinal game. One of the ways Saban is helping his team to prepare is by hiring a former member of Harbaugh's staff, George Helow.

Helow spent two years working with Harbaugh in Ann Arbor as a linebackers coach at Michigan (2021-22).

It is expected that Helow will begin his work with the Crimson Tide immediately, and there's no doubt that Saban and Co. will be tapping into his knowledge and experience in working with the Michigan defense.

It's worth noting that Helow began his coaching career at Alabama back in 2012, assisting then-defensive coordinator Kirby Smart as part of Nick Saban's staff.
