REPORT: Michigan's Mike Hart Interviews For Big Ten Head Coaching Job

In this story:
Michigan head football coach Jim Harbaugh has made it clear on multiple occasions that he believes several members of his current coaching staff will be head coaches in the near future, with many as early as next season.
"It's been well documented that we have a very talented coaching staff and I believe that all 10 assistant coaches will be head coaches in the near future," said Harbaugh earlier this year. "They are all capable of leading a team at an elite level. I know that everyone will handle their responsibilities and help our players to be the best version of themselves on and off the field this fall and beyond."
Although offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore has gotten much of the attention as a potential head coach next season (and rightfully so), running backs coach Mike Hart is another guy who will definitely have the opportunity to be a head coach somewhere in the near future.
On Tuesday, it was reported that Hart was actually in the process of interviewing for the current head coaching job at Indiana. Former Indiana head coach Tom Allen was fired earlier this week after eight seasons in Bloomington, finishing the 2023 season with a brutal 3-9 record.

Taking over at Indiana would be a return to familiar territory for Hart, having served as a running backs coach, assistant head coach, and associate head coach for the Hoosiers from 2017-2020.
