It's been a busy day for the Michigan Wolverines when it comes to the transfer portal. First it was veteran wide receiver AJ Henning who made his announcement, followed quickly by veteran defensive back RJ Moten. Now, its senior linebacker Nikhai Hill-Green who is entering the transfer portal after missing the entirety of the 2022 season due to injury.

As a sophomore in 2021, Hill-Green appeared in all 14 games with six starts at linebacker,  and also played special teams. He accounted for 50 tackles in 2021,  including two for a loss and one pass breakup to earn his second varsity letter.

There's no doubt that Hill-Green's departure has a lot to do with Michigan's current depth at the linebacker position, particularly with the addition of Nebraska transfer Ernest Hausmann. Add to that Michigan's leading tackler from 2022 in Junior Colson, along with sixth-year graduate student Mike Barrett, and the Wolverines are fairly set at the linebacker position heading into 2023.
