We're past the halfway point of the high school football season which means recruiting analysts and reporters have seen prospects play in several games this fall giving them enough information to reconsider ratings and rankings. For a couple of Michigan commits, their senior seasons have been very kind to them in terms of their new rankings.

Brandywine (Md.) Gwynn Park EDGE Devon Baxter was once a little-known prospect that Michigan identified and ultimately landed. Now, after moving up a whopping 402 spots in 247 Sports' latest rankings, Baxter is a top-225 prospect nationally. The 6-6, 225-pounder looks better and better physically every time he takes the field and with how successful EDGEs have been at Michigan, the sky is the limit for Baxter.

Baxter obviously shot way up the rankings, but amazingly, it wasn't as much as Nappanee (Ind.) Northwood cornerback Jo'Ziah Edmond. The 6-1, 180-pounder, who shines on both sides of the ball in high school, climbed up an incredible 494 spots in the latest rankings by 247 Sports. He's now sitting at No. 151 in the entire country after being lightly recruited, like Baxter.

With 25 pledges, Michigan's 2024 class is currently sitting at No. 14 in the country according to 247 Sports. Big jumps in the ranks by guys like Baxter and Edmond certainly help that as they're now two of Michigan's 13 four-star pledges.
