Michigan Commit Shoots Up The Latest Rankings

In this story:
Brandywine (Md.) Gwynn Park EDGE rusher Devon Baxter committed to Michigan a few weeks ago giving the Wolverines a big-bodied pass rusher who could play a couple of different positions on the defensive line. Baxter, who checks in at 6-6, 225 pounds, had more than 20 offers to choose from when he picked the maize and blue last month.
Now that he's committed, Michigan fans should be pleased to know that analysts watched him closely this summer and have been impressed. Baxter, who was a pretty modestly-rated three-star prospect at the time of his commitment, is now viewed as a four-star player by the 247 Sports Composite and the No. 393 overall player nationally. That obviously doesn't happen without climbing the rankings and Baxter did just that — 114 spots to be exact. The analysts at 247 saw enough out of Baxter to bump him way up the list of 2024 prospects.
His scouting report write up at 247 Sports is short and sweet, but does describe him pretty well as a long, versatile athlete with a lot of upside.
