In this story:

Not all things go as planned.

Earlier today, we reported that Michigan football target Jacob Smith would commit to his college of choice on Thursday.

But either something has created a change of heart, or Smith just wants to think more about his decision.

After the Wolverines’ Edge target tweeted that cryptic message, Josh Henschke with The Maize & Blue Review reported that Smith would be backing up his commitment date — the new date is not known as of this writing.

Smith is the twin brother of current Michigan commit, Jerod Smith. The popular belief is the two brothers would like to play together if possible, and the Wolverines have been trending significantly for Jacob Smith.

There are now four Crystal Ball predictions in for Michigan to land him and the Wolverines are leading by a landslide on On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine.

Back in April Smith named a top six schools that consisted of: Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Nebraska. It's possible Nebraska -- or another school -- is trying to make a last effort to land him

Smith is a four-star recruit and the 211th-ranked player in the country according to the Composite ranking.
