The Future Of Michigan Football?

Michigan is doing big things on the recruiting trail right now as the coaches and staff continue to host some of the best players in the country across multiple classes.

After beating Ohio State two years in a row, winning back to back Big Ten titles and reaching the College Football Playoffs in 2021 and 2022, Michigan football is humming along. The 2023 class wasn't necessarily star studded, but it's better than solid across the board, especially with the recent addition of Brandyn Hillman. Now, the Michigan coaches and recruiting staffers are working hard on inking some of the best players in the entire country in 2024 and 2025.

Over the weekend, Michigan hosted more than 20 prospects, including multiple top 100 prospects from the 2024 class and a couple of committed players from both the 2024 and 2025 classes. During the visit, four players who might all be leaning towards the Wolverines, posed with several coaches and staffers giving a potential look at the future of Michigan football.

2024 recruits

Obviously in the pic you can see running backs coach Mike Hart, tight ends coach Grant Newsome, offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Sherrone Moore, quarterbacks coach Kirk Campbell and director of recruiting operations Albert Karschnia. Fitting, since those would be the position coaches of the four pictured, stud recruits.

All Michigan fans know about Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day School quarterback Jadyn Davis at this point. He's been to Michigan more than five times and appears to be a heavy U-M lean. Since Michigan didn't really land a QB in the 2023 class, Davis is a must-get in 2024.

Austin (Texas) Vandegrift offensive tackle Blake Frazier hails directly from Longhorn country, but as you can see, expert analyst Steve Wiltfong sees the 6-5, 260-pounder as a future Wolverine. It was actually Frazier who posted the pic above, with the caption "M Gang?"

Cincinatti Archbishop Moeller running back Jordan Marshall is an Ohio kid that Ohio State wants and he might end up choosing the Wolverines. If you were a running back, why wouldn't you? Look at the success of Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards and look at what U-M does with its offensive lines and how committed they are to running the ball. Putting Marshall in a group with the potential QB of the class in Davis, a big time offensive lineman in Frazier and Hart and Moore was a fantastic idea.

Finally there's in-state stud tight end Brady Prieskorn out of Rochester Adams. As you can see in the picture, he's every bit of 6-6 as he stands eye-to-eye with Newsome. The local product seems like the kind of kid who should be a layup for Michigan but he's got more than 25 offers from schools like Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Iowa, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee and Texas A&M. The kid has options and he keeps things close to the vest.

If Michigan could land the four prospects pictured above, the 2024 class would have some very key pieces in place en route to a big time haul that could keep momentum rolling into the future. As of right now, Michigan has a great shot at inking all four.
