In-State Cornerback Target Back On The Market

Michigan is off to a great start in the 2024 recruiting cycle and a realistic, offered target recently reopened his recruitment.

Jim Harbaugh and his staff have been hitting the recruiting trail extremely hard in the 2024 cycle and so far it has paid off in a major way. With guys like five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis and big time Ohio State target Jordan Marshall already in the fold, the class is currently ranked No. 5 in the country per 247 Sports.

While they have made some big time progress early in the cycle, they haven't landed a cornerback yet. They're in pursuit of some elite guys in Ohio prospects Bryce West and Aaron Scott, but both of them are viewed as Ohio State leans at this point. However, a very realistic, in-state target is now back on the market after decommitting from Stanford on Thursday.

West Bloomfield (Mich.) High three-star cornerback Jamir Benjamin took to Twitter to announce that he is re-opening his recruitment.

Benjamin committed to Stanford when David Shaw was still the head coach, but now according to On3's prediction machine, is expected to end up at Michigan. Per 247 Sports, Benjamin is the No. 487 player in the country, No. 43 cornerback, and No. 11 player in the state of Michigan. The 5-10, 170-pounder holds 27 offers from programs like Michigan State, Penn State, and Pitt, among others.
