Michigan Makes Top 5 For Highly Coveted Safety

In this story:
Michigan is sitting in the No. 2 spot in the country per 247 Sports when it comes to the national recruiting rankings and has verbal commitments from more prospects than any other program in the nation with 17. That number is sure to grow before National Signing Day rolls around as evidenced by player after player putting U-M in their top group. This time, it's Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star safety Jordon Johnson-Rubell.
The 5-10, 180-pounder has cut his list down to five and Michigan is still in the mix along with TCU, Ohio State, Texas and USC.
Johnson-Rubell originally hails from the state of Texas, so it's not surprising to see the Longhorns and Horned Frogs on his list. Throw in powerhouse programs that recruit extremely well, like Ohio State, USC and Michigan and you have the making of a very competitive top list.
