Five-Star Beast Puts Michigan In Top Group
Jim Harbaugh and his staff have done a masterful job at putting together one of the best recruiting classes in the country in the 2024 cycle and some really big fish are still on the line, including Chicago St. Ignatius defensive lineman Justin Scott.
The 6-4, 310-pound specimen looks like he could be in college right now, on either side of the ball, and truly has a chance to be special at the next level very early on in his career. The big fella recently dropped a top five that included the Michigan Wolverines.
As a Chicago native from a parochial school, Notre Dame is squarely in the mix and as a "drop off a bag" school, Miami has also positioned itself well. The Irish and Hurricanes seem to have separated themselves a bit from the rest of the pack and feel like the current favorites. Michigan, Ohio State and Georgia round out the big lineman's top five.
Michigan might be on the outside looking in by a little bit right now, but the ever-important June official visits are fast approaching. Scott will be in Athens on June 2, Ann Arbor on June 9, Miami on June 16 and Columbus on June 23. As of right now, Scott is planning to take an official visit to South Bend for a game sometime in September.
As things currently stand, most feel that Miami is leading for the five-star talent, but these visits can certainly shake things up. Throw in on-field results and leads and deficits can change in a hurry.
