Buford (Georgia) linebacker, Mantrez Walker, has been committed to Michigan since Feb. 11, 2022.

But on Monday night, the class of 2025 linebacker announced he was decommitting from the Wolverines and opening his recruitment back up.

According to the Composite, Walker is a three-star recruit and the 383rd-ranked recruit in the '25 cycle. The linebacker recruit has been taking visits to other schools recently and is coming off a visit to Colorado.

Walker has offers from some prominent schools like Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, and Tennessee, among others.

After Michigan lost the 6-foot, 215-pound linebacker, the Wolverines now have two commits in the cycle. Both commitments are on the defense: CB Chris Ewald Jr. and DT Bobby Kanka.

Right now, the 2024 class is still important to Michigan, but the 2025 cycle is right around the corner and we should start hearing more about that class.
