In this story:

Michigan signed all 27 commitments in the 2024 cycle on Wednesday during Early Signing Day. But the Wolverines are hoping to sign a few more players before February's National Signing Day comes and goes.

While Michigan is still working on filling out its '24 class, the Wolverines are also focusing on the transfer portal and looking ahead to the 2025 cycle.

The Wolverines have been working to land five-star safety DJ Pickett, and Michigan appears to be putting in solid work.

Pickett announced Michigan made his top five. Alabama, Miami, Georgia, and Oregon rounded the group out.

Pickett, a safety from Tampa (FL) Zephyrhills, is the No. 7 player in the 2025 class, according to the Composite. The 6-foot-2 safety is the top-ranked player from the state of Florida.

Pickett broke down what he likes about his top five with On3. His mother went to school at Michigan, so he has ties with the program and school. He also is extremely close with coach Steve Clinkscale.

“My mom went to school there, so I have ties to Michigan. Then I have that relationship with Coach Clink (Steve Clinkscale). It is like he is my high school coach. He is easy to talk to and our relationship is really strong.”

He has visited Ann Arbor the most out of the five schools in his top group. Pickett has been to Michigan four times.
