Michigan Working To Land Five Of Top 15 Prospects In Ohio

In this story:
Beating Ohio State soundly two years in a row has done wonders for Michigan as a program and the wins are really starting to show up on the recruiting trail as well. Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines landed two prospects from the state of Ohio over the last week, including running back Jordan Marshall, who was a legitimate target for the Buckeyes. Michigan now has Marshall, along with three other Buckeye State residents, in the fold and is working hard on adding a fifth, all within the top 15 in the state of Ohio per 247 Sports.
No. 3 - Jordan Marshall - COMMITTED
Marshall is one of the biggest gets for Michigan in a long time just because of what it represents. Michigan has always recruited the state of Ohio, but usually only landed whoever Ohio State didn't want. Ryan Day and Ohio State definitely wanted Marshall, but he spurned the home-state Buckeyes for the maize and blue. That's definitely a sign of a changing of the guard and also makes a ton of sense for a kid like Marshall specifically, who will likely shine at a place like Michigan. It's also worth noting that Marshall hails from one of the best-run high school programs in all of Ohio in Archbishop Moeller. This kid is a winner and he's going to arrive at U-M with a deep-seated hatred of the Buckeyes. It's a win-win-win for the Wolverines.
No. 4 - Brian Robinson - MICHIGAN LEAN
Robinson has nearly 40 offers and is down to an unofficial top three consisting of Michigan, Penn State and Kentucky. The 6-5, 255-pounder is perfectly built for today's hybrid edge rusher and would likely thrive at a place like Michigan like so many have before him. Michigan has been able to put edge rusher after edge rusher into the NFL, including Aidan Hutchinson very recently as the No. 2 overall pick, which certainly gets the attention of aspiring NFL pass rushers like Robinson. Some of the most reliable analysts at 247 Sports see Robinson in a winged helmet.
No. 11 - Luke Hamilton - COMMITTED
Interior offensive linemen aren't usually very sexy in terms of recruiting trail news, but Hamilton was a very solid get for the Wolverines back in November. Tennessee, Penn State, Nebraska and Michigan State were all recruiting Hamilton pretty hard but he saw what Michigan has been doing in the run game over the past two years and decided to sign up for a heavy dose of mauling people.
No. 14 - Ted Hammond - COMMITTED
Hammond is now considered a four-star prospect according to the 247 Sports Composite, which is good for his trajectory. The 6-5, 258-pounder looks like a future defensive tackle but he's got enough length and athleticism to be considered for an end position. Wherever he ends up, he's another Ohio kid from a big time program without an Ohio State offer. He'll be ready to stick it to the Buckeyes once he's in Ann Arbor.
No. 15 - Ben Roebuck - COMMITTED
Last but certainly not least at 6-7, 320 pounds, is Ben Roebuck. An absolute monster of a young man, Roebuck already looks like an NFL lineman in his crispy St. Edward uniform. His highlight tape is filled with mauling pancake blocks, which means he'll fit in perfectly at Michigan. Like Hammond at St. X, Roebuck knows what big time football is all about coming from a place like St. Ed's. Hammond and Roebuck are winners, hard workers, structured and spurned by Ohio State. Michigan can continue to win with guys like that on the roster.
