Early signing day is right around the corner to start signing 2024 recruits. The Wolverines are not only looking to start signing commits who have been a part of the class, but the hope is to lock in players who haven't committed yet.

It appears Michigan could be getting a new commit in the '24 cycle very soon.

After taking a visit to Ann Arbor, the Wolverines are the odds-on favorite to land District Heights (MD) Bishop McNamara prospect, Lugard Edokpayi.

Michigan received a Crystal Ball prediction by Brice Marich with The Michigan Insider on 247Sports. The Wolverines also received predictions from both Zach Libby and EJ Holland with The Wolverine (On3).

According to the Composite rankings, Edokpayi is a four-star recruit and the 305th-ranked prospect in the cycle. He has phenomenal size standing at 6-foot-6, 230-pounds.

The physical specimen is fairly raw and is still defining his pass rush moves, but Edokpayi has one of the longest wing spans in the 2024 class and could cause major havoc for offensive linemen once he receives college coaching.

Both Florida State and Maryland have also been in the mix to land the Edge rusher, but it's looking more and more likely that Michigan will be the choice come early signing day.

Michigan currently has 26 commitments in the 2024 class. The Wolverines have three committed Edge rushers.
