Strengths: You could almost cut and paste the Aaron Bates profile here with Swenson’s. Brett is, without a doubt, a star. Equally as good of a person as a player, Swenson is well liked and most of all respected by his peers.

 

I won’t repeat what I wrote in the magazine, but his strength was best shown in last year’s Wisconsin game. Wisconsin took a timeout to try to ice him and he booted the game winner. Icing Swenson doesn’t work. He is in his own world. He is reliable and trustworthy.

 

Weakness: Well I guess if you had to find one, it could be that he worked his tail off this summer and has a physique that makes him look more like the incredible Hulk rather than a kicker. LOL! If you are looking for weaknesses on this young man, you will have to look awfully hard. He is a four-year player and shows the polish that comes with it.

 

Final Analysis: Let’s be honest. Kicker and punters aren’t the most loved by the fans. Rarely one comes along, in our case two, like Swenson and Bates and they change the perception. Rarely do you hear of one as a team leader. Usually the best analogy is that, “If you know the kickers name he screwed up.” That isn’t the case with Swenson and far and wide around the nation his name is known. Known as one of the best in all of college football, not just East Lansing or the Big Ten. 

 

His family can be very proud of his kicking talents, but must be ecstatic for the type of young man they raised. Swenson is a lot more than a kicker; he is a gentleman.
