Brandon Clemons Receives Sixth Year of Eligibility from NCAA
Clemons graduated with a psychology degree in December 2015.
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State offensive guard Brandon Clemons has been granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA, Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio announced on Tuesday. Clemons, who earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology in December 2015, has played in 32 career games.
A three-year letterwinner (2013-15), Clemons participated in spring practice and is expected to be a significant contributor on the offensive line in 2016.

Brandon has been part of a winning culture here the past five years and we’re excited he’s getting the opportunity to maintain that level of excellence for his sixth season. He’s everything you’re looking for in a quality student-athlete. He earned his degree last year and will be a go-to guy in the offensive line room this season for our football team.”
The 6-foot-3, 303-pound native of Milford, Pennsylvania, began his career on the defensive line, but was limited his first two seasons due to injuries.
Clemons played in six games on the 2013 Rose Bowl and Big Ten Championship team to earn his first letter before shifting to the offensive line during the 2014 season, where he played in all 13 games on MSU’s Cotton Bowl Championship team. He played on both the offensive and defensive lines in the win over Eastern Michigan on Sept. 20, 2014, in Week 3 of the season.
Last season, Clemons continued to make strides at guard, seeing regular time in the playing rotation while seeing action in 13 contests. He recorded 16 knockdowns during the regular season, including a season-high 4.5 in the victory at No. 2 Ohio State. Clemons played a season-high 36 snaps at Nebraska and collected four knockdowns, and also played 30 snaps vs. Indiana, 26 snaps vs. Rutgers and 25 snaps vs. Maryland.
Clemons is currently pursuing a second degree in sociology.
