DE William Gholston of Detroit Southeastern is a Spartan!
If Christmas can come in June then grab some corn, feed a reindeer and give out a hearty Ho Ho Ho Spartan Nation. Spartan Nation has learned that the best player in the State of Michigan, DE William Gholston has informed the MSU Coaching staff that he is coming to East Lansing to play football for the Spartans. Spartan Nation learned very early this morning that he made the pledge to the Spartan staff.
Gholston told us when we visited him at his high school, Detroit Southeastern, earlier this year, “I am going to play in the State of Michigan, to be near the people I am close to, and MSU is just the perfect fit.â€Â He asked us to not make those comments public and we honored that. The good news is that he has informed the staff this morning and he is on his way.
With nothing signed, Spartan fans now must wait until national letter of intent signing day in February of 2010, but with the addition of Gholston there are many names that should follow. Gholston is an immediate impact player and the 6'7" player will make an immediate impact on the program. He will come to MSU in superior shape and loves to practice and play. He is the biggest impact recruit to come to MSU since Charles Rogers, minus all of the off field issues. He is a stud on the field with the character off of it to match.
 Gholston is the fourth commitment so far for Mark Dantonio in the 2010 class. He joins Traverse City Saint Francis MLB Max Bullough, Detroit Crockett’s Tony Lippett, and CB Mylan Kicks of Detroit Renaissance.Â
Mark Dantonio likes to see kids that come to MSU for camps before extending most offers. With many youngsters on their way to the Spartan campus, those offers begin to grow and unlike in years past, there are many gifted and talented players waiting anxiously to join the Dantonio led Spartans.
