Michigan State Football Makes Top-5 for Three-Star WDE Popeye Williams

Popeye Williams, a 2022 three-star defensive end, listed Michigan State in his top-5 schools.

EAST LANSING – Last August, Mel Tucker and the Michigan State Spartans set their sights on a talented defensive end out of Indiana.

The Spartans' interest might pay off soon.

Popeye Williams, a 2022 three-star weakside defensive end, listed MSU in his top-5 schools alongside Nebraska, Cincinnati, Louisville, and Purdue.

"After a great conversation with @CoachRonBurton, I am blessed to receive an offer from Michigan State University," Williams wrote via Twitter.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound pass rusher is the No. 10 ranked player in his home state and a top-25 prospect for the '22 recruiting class.

Williams also holds offers from Alabama, Penn State, Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Minnesota, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, and Wisconsin.
