Sports Illustrated Publishers’ 2020 Preseason All-Big Ten Team

SI Publishers' voted on the 2020 preseason All-Big Ten team.

Nine Big Ten publishers/writers from Sports Illustrated came together to vote for the preseason All-Big Ten team.

Michigan State's Elijah Collins, the lone Spartan on the list, claimed a preseason selection.

Michigan held the most selections (5), with Ohio State and Penn State featuring four apiece.

The publishers used an offensive format, including one quarterback, two running backs, two wideouts, one tight end, two offensive tackles, two offensive guards, and one center.

Defensively, we used four defensive linemen and four linebackers due to each program running a different scheme on that side of the ball.

Ohio State's Justin Fields was named the publishers' preseason offensive player of the year, while Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons was named the defensive player of the year.

Ryan Day, the head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes, was selected as the preseason coach of the year.

There were a few players who received unanimous voting; their names will be bolded below.

Offense

• Quarterback: Justin Fields (Ohio State)
• Running back: Journey Brown (Penn State), Elijah Collins (Michigan State)
• Wide receivers: Rondale Moore (Purdue), Rashod Bateman (Minnesota)
• Tight End: Pat Friermuth (Penn State)
• Offensive tackles: Cole Van Lanen (Wisconsin), Alaric Jackson (Iowa)
• Offensive guards: Wyatt Davis (Ohio State), Blaise Andries (Minnesota)
• Center: Josh Meyers (Ohio State)

Defense

• Defensive lineman: George Karlaftis (Purdue), Kwity Paye (Michigan), Shaka Toney (Penn State), Aidan Hutchinson (Michigan)
• Linebacker: Micah Parsons (Penn State), Paddy Fisher (Northwestern), Jack Sanborn (Wisconsin), Cameron McGrone (Michigan)
• Cornerback: Shawn Wade (Ohio State), Ambry Thomas (Michigan)
• Safety: Eric Burrell (Wisconsin), Dax Hill (Michigan)

Special Teams

• Kicker: Keith Duncan (Iowa)
