There is joy in the Spartan Nation today. A talented young defensive end name Michael Jordan is now officially a Spartan.Â

The 6’6” 285# defensive end was expected to sign with MSU back in February on national signing day but that was delayed with educational issues. He did not sign a letter of intent today however, according to John Lewandowski the MSU SID: “he signed a financial aid tender since the letter of intent signing period is over. He still is expected to complete the course work that he has in front of him also.” He is currently enrolled at Lansing Community College.

I had Jordan rated as the #1 recruit of the 2007 class back in February and that certainly will not change. He posses all the skills and is expected to bring an immediate impact to the Spartans defensive line, and area of the team that has struggle previously.Â

Jordan certainly has the skills and potential to possibly play on Sundays and will be a great addition to first year MSU head coach Mark Dantonio’s first class. Jordan is sure to have an immediate impact on the Spartans defense.

Unlike like most JUCO transfers, Jordan will have three years of eligibility to play that must be used in a three-year span with presumably no red shirt available.

Jordan was coached in High School by current Grand Rapids Rampage head football coach Sparky McEwen, told me today “It has always been a dream for Michael to play at MSU. I have no doubt that when he puts on the green and white that he will be a force to be reckoned with. He is a true American success story. When he came to our school from Vegas he as an immediate impact player. He is so big and fast and he has such high energy and passion. He instantly brings a swagger and he plays at 100 MPH but is a complete perfect gentleman off the field.”
