Wow, that Iowa game was something. Unfortunately I was unable to watch it (thanks Big Ten Network!!!1!!), and frankly I’m glad. The game as a whole was an absolute travesty. MSU played absolutely terrible! I know, I know, the officiating was abysmal, but that is no excuse. This team did not come to play in Iowa City. Yes, we have lost to them 5 of the last 6 times now at Carver Hawkeye arena, but for this top 10 Spartan team to lay an egg against one of the three worst Big Ten teams is terrible. Now, my opinion is that this team will come back from this mightily. Drew Neitzel will become much more of a vocal leader, and in doing so will improve the team. Now a plea to Big Ten officials: Please give us the blatant homerism that you have shown to give teams such as this Iowa game, Michigan two years ago, and Wisconsin EVERY GAME AT THE KOHL CENTER. I can’t remember the last time that we shot 25 more free throws than a non-Northwestern Big Ten opponent. What a joke the officiating has become. Again, I am NOT blaming the loss on the officials, but it has gotten worse and worse every year. THE GAME IS NOT ABOUT YOU!!!!

Very good season all around. Very rough way to end it out with a loss against a very overrated BC, but what are you gonna do right? Before the year I had us getting 7 wins and a Motor City Bowl trip. We upped that by getting to Orlando, so in that way I’m very pleased. The team has improved more in one year with Coach D than it did in 5 years with the cowboy. I just hate losing the games the way we did. 31 totally points during 6 losses incredible. That is an average of 5.2 points per loss. No game more than 7 points. 3 of the losses could have been wins easily with just one play. It’s heartbreaking. But that is going to change. Next year the losing mentality of the program will be gone. They are getting rid of players that are cancers to the program. Good riddance T.J. They are adding a ton of speed in this years recruiting class. Maybe not guys that will see the field right away, but as we have seen during the last two national title games, speed kills. The program is on its way up; make sure you’re on board.

Well, they beat KC. And in doing so went from the number 9 pick to the number 15. Those 6 picks could mean the difference between the number 1 receiver on the board to the number 3 receiver. Ok, maybe this year they will actually draft in a position of need (LEFT TACKLE!!), but will they be able to get a guy like Sam Baker down at 15? I doubt it. You never know what could happen with trades and whatnot, and maybe they will draft a player who can do something like they did with Ernie. In my opinion, the only thing that can really help this team is when the Fords sell it off. As a Lions fan, I really hope for a great off-season, for a change, but am not counting on it.
